Our Company
The Strategist Private Limited is an established publishing house and consultancy with its core strength rooted in Asia's oil, gas, power, petrochemical and chemical industries. Founded in 1993, Singapore-based The Strategist was bought over by an international finance and commodities brokerage in December 1998. It was divested in April 2000 and is now an independent company.

Previously, The Strategist produced The Strategist Oil Report (SOR) as its monthly flagship publication. From April 2000, EnergyAsia Report replaced the SOR as the company's hard copy report. The Strategist is now focused on aggressively developing an energy portal on its website, http://www.EnergyAsia.com , for the Asia Pacific region.

EnergyAsia's Jurong Island was launched in March 2001 to focus on developments and company activities on Jurong Island and other energy industry parks in the region. A hard copy version of the publication is available on subscription.

The Strategist's other hard copy publications include the following:

  • Guide to the Petrochemical and Chemical Industry (now in its 4th edition), providing an overview of the petrochemical and chemical industries in Southeast Asia. It also has a directory of the companies operating in the region.
  • Oil and Chemical Map of Singapore 2000. Shows the installations and plants of about 100 oil, petrochemical and chemical companies operating in Singapore.
  • Power Annual 2000 is a 160-page book providing an overview of the power industries in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.
  • Petroleum Annual 2000 is a 160-page book on the oil industry in Asia. Also, contains a listing of petroleum companies operating in Asia with regional office in Singapore.
