(EnergyAsia, January 20 2012, Friday) --- Engineering giant Foster Wheeler AG said subsidiary Foster Wheeler India Private Limited has won a contract to develop a new five-million-tonne/year liquefied natural (LNG) receiving terminal in Ennore city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu by 2016.

Awarded by state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the contract’s scope of work includes basic design, front-end engineering design, and the preparation of capital and operating cost estimates for the import, storage and regasification terminal.

Switzerland-based Foster Wheeler, which did not disclose the contract value, said it will also undertake marine studies to enable IOCL to decide on the jetty location, utilities and regasified LNG send-out facilities.

Listed on NASDAQ, Foster Wheeler AG is a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier delivering technically advanced, reliable facilities and equipment.
