Sunday, 09 November 2008 20:17

(EnergyAsia, November 10, Monday) --- Nearly 6,000 industry professionals from more than 55 countries attended POWER-GEN Asia at the KLCC Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 21 to 23.

This represented a record 12% increase from the previous edition in Thailand last year. More than 150 exhibitors participated, including some of the world’s leading industry players.

The POWER-GEN Asia conference was also a resounding success, with speakers delivered more than 120 presentations on topics ranging from fossil fuel technology to developments in green and renewable power generation. Malaysia’s Minister Energy, Water and Communications Shaziman Bin Abu Mansor delivered the ministerial keynote speech at the opening of the conference.

Glenn Ensor, Penwell’s director of international events, said: “We received many commendations from exhibitors, visitors and conference delegates, on the overall quality of this year’s event. As POWER-GEN Asia continues to grow, it also continues to attract the whole industry to congregate and use it as an annual meeting place for the regions’ power industry.

“Malaysia and the KLCC Convention Centre played remarkable hosts to POWER-GEN Asia 2008 and we wish to thank all the endorsers of the event for their support, making it a resounding success. We now look forward to further enhancing the experience for exhibitors, visitors and delegates alike when POWER-GEN Asia opens in Bangkok, Thailand in October 2009.”

POWER-GEN Asia was organised by PennWell Corporation.
